Challenge

• EY commissioned Kinlan to undertake a survey among analysts covering the support services sector to gather feedback and identify improved financial disclosure requirements in the sector

Strategy

• Prepare a short list of target analysts drawing upon an extensive City network
• Advise and provide input into survey formulation addressing questions such as classification of companies inside or outside the sector and the relative importance of various financial reporting attributes
• Pre-arranged and conducted the survey via telephone interviews with top-ranked analysts and provided guaranteed anonymity of replies

Result

• The survey identified a number of key items of special interest for analysts
• The survey helped to close the information gap between companies and analysts
• The survey formed part of a comprehensive consultancy exercise that EY carried out on the sector
